Who we are

Hellebore Literary Agency was born when four coworkers at Portland State University’s Ooligan Press became inspired by Ooligan’s mission to make literature accessible.

Rin Kane

Founder | Agent | Business Administrator

I hold an MA in Book Publishing and a BA in English and Writing from Portland State University. While in grad school, I worked as an acquisitions editor at Ooligan Press, the book reviews editor for Portland Review, and the digital multimedia editor for Pacific Sentinel. In my down time, I enjoy lit fic, magical realism, and nonfiction. I also love to cook and hang out with my cat Mars, and I am currently dipping my toe into urban gardening!

Jackie Krantz

Founder | Agent | Marketing and Design Director

I earned a BS in Biotechnology and a minor in Graphic Design from Florida Southern College and an MS in Book Publishing from Portland State University. While at PSU, I was a project manager for Ooligan Press, working with authors to market and publicize their books in both traditional and digital media. After graduation, I worked as an independent marketer, helping authors develop a presence on social media and generating buzz about their books. In my free time, I love to rock climb, play board games, and plan for my next music festival.

Rebecca Moss

Founder | Agent | Client Coordinator

I have received an MA in Book Publishing and a BFA in Creative Writing and Arts and Letters from Portland State University. During my time there I was appointed Acquisitions Manager at Ooligan Press, Fiction Editor of The Portland Review, and Associate Editor of The Pacific Sentinel. Spending time with my dog Mako, reading fantasy and YA books, and drinking multiple cups of coffee a day are the things that I live for.

Emmily Tomulet

Founder | Agent | Rights and Contracts Manager

I hold an MS in Book Publishing and a BA in Applied Linguistics from Portland State University. I worked as both an acquisitions editor and the rights manager for Ooligan Press. When I’m not fighting for the best rights deals for my clients, I’m reading science fiction and fantasy books, playing board games, and snuggling with my cats.
